Come with us on a quick visit to the orangutan Baby House, where we’ve got two very special little friends who want to say hello–Pansy and Felix!
You might remember young Felix, who was rescued back in January after being found trapped in a tiny cage. He had painful wounds on his head and fingers from banging against the bars in fear. Thanks to your support, Felix is now safe at our BORA Rescue Centre in East Borneo, and he’s doing so well! He’s started Baby Jungle School and is working towards his ultimate goal–forest freedom!

Felix was soon joined in the Baby House by gorgeous little Pansy, who was rescued when her forest home was destroyed for coal mining. Overcome with fear and stress, Pansy’s mum sadly abandoned her during the rescue and relocation process. It was heartbreaking. But thanks to you, Pansy is now getting the love and care she needs to heal.

Now, Pansy and Felix are the best of friends. They’re close in age and size, and love getting up to cheeky mischief together! They play, learn, and grow more confident every day–all because you gave them this second chance.
They’ve started heading out for Baby Jungle School 2-3 times a week, joining other young orangutans like Arto and Harapi. They’re learning all the important skills they’ll need to survive in the wild someday. When they’re not at Jungle School, you’ll find them swinging around the Baby House playground or snacking on their favourite foods–bananas, red tomatoes, and of course, their milk bottles!

At night, Felix still sleeps safely in his baby orangutan crate for comfort and security with blankets and fresh leaves. Pansy, on the other hand, prefers to curl up in the cosy nests inside the Baby House. She uses the fresh leafy branches given to them in the afternoon to sleep on. She loves her long, peaceful naps!
We are so incredibly grateful to you, our amazing community of supporters, for giving these two young orangutans a second chance at life. With your help, they can continue to grow and learn at Jungle School, building the skills they need to one day be wild and free in the jungle. Where they belong.
Thank you for being their hero! 🧡
