Meet Astuti–our October APE Achiever!

Meet Astuti, the young, orphaned orangutan who is learning how to live a wild orangutan life. All thanks to you!

This gorgeous 5-year-old is one of the precious orangutans you’re supporting through her Jungle School journey. 

Thanks to you, she is absolutely thriving!

Astuti was rescued from the illegal wildlife trade in 2022, spared from a life behind bars. Because of your kindness, she’s now safe, loved and learning how to be the wild orangutan she was born to be. 

Today, Astuti is bursting with confidence. She’s playful, social, and loves spending time with her besties Mabel, Ochre, Arto, Harapi, Cinta and Jainul. Her number-one buddy is Jainul, who she adores following around and wrestling with! 

Thanks to you, Astuti is building strong social connections at Jungle School. Here she is exploring with some of her favourite Jungle School pals–Jainul, Mabel and Arto!

But Jungle School isn’t all fun and games…There’s some serious orangutan business to learn, like nest building! In June, Astuti built one of the biggest nests our team has ever seen. She even made the perfect resting nest with her pals Pansy, Mabel and Cinta, high up in a Dracontomelon dao tree. Go, girls! 

Your kindness has made all of this possible. 

You helped rescue Astuti. 

You’re helping her heal. 

And one day soon, you’ll help her find her way back to forest freedom. 💚
