Carmen is now 12 years old and weighs 34 kg. Carmen still lives at the socialisation complex in Nyaru Menteng 2 with Bela, Suma, and Nanda. She previously lived in the socialisation complex at Nyaru Menteng 1.
Carmen has been doing very well in 2013. She is a very fit and healthy orangutan and she is not a fussy eater. This helps her maintain good physical condition. Carmen is the second largest female orangutan in the complex after Suma. Carmen is the dominant orangutan however she doesn’t bother or harass her friends. Within the socialisation complex, Carmen loves spending her time playing with the enrichment rugs and other toys that are provided for the orangutans to play with.
